Nellie gets on a Plane

June 12, 1955

This is an undated picture of Nellie Stouffer (my Father’s maternal Grandmother) getting on a plane. She died in 1960, and she is not with her husband, who died in 1941. So this was probably taken sometime between 1941 and 1960.

She is boarding an Eastern Airlines airplane.

2 Pershing Cousins, Ex-Chef Live in the city

July 18, 1948

This a newspaper article that mentions that my Grandmother and Great Grandmother are related to General John Pershing, who died that week.

My Grandmother (who is referred to as “Mrs. Francis Wilkinson” rather than her own name) also discusses when she met General Pershing at a Family reunion in 1923.

I also find it a bit strange that someone who cooked for Pershing gets top billing over actual relatives of his.

Bob Visits Aunt Hallie and Grama

July 16, 1947

In the summer of 1947, my father went to visit his Aunt Hallie and his grandparents in Absecon, New Jersey. Not sure if they lived there, vacationed there, or had a vacation home there. Absecon is near Atlantic City New Jersey. The address is listed as 17 Church Street Absecon, NJ but there is a East and a West Church Street. So I am not sure of the exact address. See maps below for images of where they may have lived.

This is 17 West Church Street (possible location of Aunt Hallie and Grama and Grampa’s house).

This is 17 East Church Street (possible location of Aunt Hallie and Grama and Grampa’s house).
